 In a major police action, Saran Police under the guidance of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) have arrested three named accused in connection with a serious shooting incident that occurred on 02 October 2025 near Jalalpur Chowk in the Bheldi police jurisdiction. The incident involved an armed dispute, resulting in the death of two individuals, including the victim Rahul Pandey.

The Bheldi police case No. 258/25 was registered under Sections 61(2)/103(1)/3(5)(2)/103(1)/3(5) B.N.S. & 25(1-B)A/26/35/27 Arms Act based on the written complaint of the deceased’s family. The incident was inspected by the SP (Rural) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Madhaura.

Formation of SIT and Arrests

Due to the severity of the incident, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Saran, directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Madhaura. After thorough investigation and verification, the SIT successfully conducted raids and arrested the following accused:

1. Munna Kumar, son of Shatrudhan Rai, resident of Gopalpur, Bheldi.

2. Suraj Kumar, son of Sanjay Rai, resident of Dhala Mod, Jalalpur, Bheldi.

3. Raushan Kumar, son of Brij Rai, resident of Kharidaha, Bheldi.

Continuous efforts are ongoing to apprehend other suspects involved. Current law-and-order situation is completely normal.

— On Sunday, Hare Ram Seva Sansthan organized the "Bihar Talent Honor Ceremony" at the Methwalia ground in Revilganj block. In this ceremony, around 300 students who scored more than 80% marks in the Class 10 and 12 board examinations were honuored with medals, ceremonial shawls, and certificates. Additionally, those students who scored above 90% were presented with wall clocks as a mark of special recognition.

Saran (Bihar): In a commendable initiative aimed at improving the lives of patients suffering from filariasis—a neglected tropical disease—a special program was conducted in the Revelganj block. Under the guidance of Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta and with support from the Patient Stakeholder Platform, five filariasis patients underwent disability grading, a physical assessment necessary for obtaining disability certificates. These certificates enable long-term patients to access government schemes and social security benefits.

Distribution of MMDP Kits to 25 Patients:

The event, held at the Sitab Diara Primary Health Center, saw the distribution of Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) kits to 25 patients suffering from lymphedema (elephantiasis). The kits included essential hygiene supplies such as antiseptic cream, clean towels, soap, mugs, buckets, and footwear—items crucial for maintaining hygiene and preventing infection in affected limbs. Patients were also educated on self-care techniques.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar emphasized that proper hygiene can significantly reduce swelling and prevent infections. Medication was also distributed to patients as part of the initiative. Block Health Manager Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal, BCM Ritu Kumari, and VBDS Ghanshyam Yadav presented awareness videos on filariasis prevention and management.

Healthcare staff including GNM Sundaram Kumari, ANMs Indu Kumari and Nibha Kumari, along with local Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, Asha Sanginis, Jeevika community mobilizers, and other health personnel, actively participated in the event.

Symptoms Appear Between Ages 5–15:

Dr. Rakesh Kumar explained that the Culex mosquito transmits filariasis from infected to healthy individuals. However, symptoms often appear only between the ages of 5 and 15. Patients may develop swelling in limbs or genitals, and in women, changes in breast size can occur.

Formation of 5 Patient Stakeholder Platforms:

Patient Stakeholder Platforms (PSPs) were established at five Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the Revelganj block. Krishna Singh, a representative of support organization CFAR, elaborated on the formation and purpose of PSPs in five common panchayats. PSPs serve as community platforms connecting patients directly to health services, facilitating easier access to medicines, certification, and government schemes.

Several patients have already benefited from PSPs—receiving treatment, disability certificates, and social security pensions—and are now on the path to living normal, dignified lives.

Delhi/NCR: Dr. Shailesh Kumar Giri, National Chief Spokesperson and Vice President of the National Core Committee of the Bharatiya Haldhar Kisan Union, has issued a strong press statement targeting Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leaders Naresh Tikait and Rakesh Tikait for their recent comments on the Indus Waters Treaty. Giri alleged that the Tikait brothers appeared to be defending Pakistan’s interests, raising concerns about their allegiance.

Dr. Giri sarcastically questioned whether the Tikait Brothers are also operating a branch of BKU in Pakistan, given their sympathetic stance. He further demanded accountability, comparing their controversial remarks with the case of folk singer Neha Singh Rathore, against whom an FIR was filed. He asked, “If Neha Singh Rathore can be penalized, then why not the Tikait Brothers and other political figures who make reckless statements?”

Quoting, “When the blood of tourists and soldiers is spilled, it is not water, but fire that should flow,” he accused the Tikait Brothers of being more interested in media, stage appearances, and opportunistic politics than in true national service. “The day is not far when Indian farmers will see through their real motives and throw them out like a fly from milk,” he stated.

He also commented on the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, expressing deep sorrow and outrage. “Pahalgam – the land where tourists seek peace – was once again rattled by the sound of bullets. Mother India is bleeding again, and now it’s time for a united voice and a firm resolve,” he said.

Referring to Neha Singh Rathore’s controversial questioning in the aftermath of the attack, Dr. Giri said, “Even if her intentions were right, the timing and platform were completely wrong, especially since her content was posted from a Pakistani handle – was that ignorance or something more?”

He then turned his attention to Rakesh Tikait, stating, “He claims to be the voice of farmers, but in times of national crisis, he distracts from unity and drowns in political nonsense. My conscience says strict action must be taken against such behavior.”

Addressing the opposition’s reactions to the attack, Giri criticized some leaders for their apathetic and divisive statements. “Some say ‘do not retaliate immediately,’ others call the government a failure. But where were they during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks or the Hyderabad and Delhi bombings? Did they take any responsibility then?”

He praised India’s current national security efforts, stating, “For over a decade now, there have been near-zero terror attacks in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Patna, and Varanasi. Intelligence has been 100% successful internally. If a 1% breach happens in remote border areas, should we call it a failure or acknowledge the 99% success?”

Dr. Giri concluded with a call for national unity:

“This is not the time for blame games but for standing together. Our armed forces and intelligence agencies are working tirelessly to keep us safe. Today’s India will not respond with cowardice but with decisive action—even on enemy soil.”

He ended his statement with a firm declaration:

Saran (Bihar) Correspondent Manoj Kumar Singh: Police arrested three more named accused on Tuesday in connection with the attack on the police who had gone to investigate a case in Chakia village of Manjhi block area. All the three arrested accused are said to be residents of Chakia village. 

  Among the arrested accused are Amarjeet Kumar and Himanshu Kumar, sons of Rajnath Sah, residents of Chakia village, and Vinay Kumar Sharma, son of Kanhaiya Sharma. Earlier, the police had arrested two other named accused. SHO Amit Kumar said that on November 28, Sub Inspector Vipul Kumar, who went to investigate a case in Chakia village, arrested three accused. After that, miscreants of the village attacked the police and forcibly freed an accused who was taken into custody. Later, Vipul Kumar lodged an FIR in the case of attack on the police and registered an FIR against ten named persons and ten unknown persons. After the FIR was registered, all the accused fled from their homes. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, information was received that three accused were hiding in the in-laws' house of an accused in Khararhiya of Daudpur police station area. Based on the information, the police conducted a raid. During the raid, two FIR and one non-FIR accused were arrested. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. Besides SHO Amit Kumar, Additional SHO Praveen Kumar, ASI Vipul Kumar, a large number of District Armed Force personnel were also involved in the raid.

Siwan (Bihar): To protect the residents of the district from Kala Azar, a disease caused by the bite of infected sandfly, the Health Department has started Kala Azar spraying campaign in selected villages in all the blocks of the district. District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer Dr. Maniraj Ranjan said that if we talk about VL, PKDL and HIV-VL patients, there were 186 in 2021, 108 in 2022, while only 63 patients were identified in 2023. Which has been treated by the Health Department. However, with the aim of eradicating it from the root, Kala Azar spraying work is going on in 3, 67, 462 rooms of 1, 11, 268 houses of 5, 87, 671 population in 179 revenue villages of 123 panchayats of the district. Spraying is done twice a year in the affected areas.

Decreasing number of Kala-azar patients means Kala-azar free campaign is successful: VBDCO

Vector Born Disease Control Officer (VBDCO) Rajesh Kumar said that a spraying campaign of synthetic parathyroid (SP) has been started in such potential kala-azar affected villages of the district. Where potential kala-azar patients have been found in the last three years. There are complaints of blackening of the skin of someone's hands, feet and stomach, which is called a patient suffering from Post Kala-azar Dermal Leishmaniasis (PKDL) kala-azar. Because mainly Post Kala-azar Dermal Leishmaniasis (PKDL) is a skin disease that occurs after kala-azar. But kala-azar can be easily treated in all the health centers of the district. For which, during the spraying campaign, such patients will also be searched in the areas and those people will be sent to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment. The number of kala-azar patients in the district is gradually decreasing, which means that the kala-azar free campaign is moving towards success.

Financial assistance is given to patients undergoing treatment in the form of labor compensation: Dr. Maniraj Ranjan 

District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer (DVBDCO) Dr Maniraj Ranjan informed that along with treatment to Kala Azar patients in government hospital, the government also provides financial assistance to Kala Azar infected patients in the form of labor compensation. The government also provides Rs 7100 as labor compensation to the patient suffering from Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) Kala Azar. This amount is given as Rs 500 by the Government of India and Rs 6600 by the State Government as Chief Minister's incentive under Kala Azar Relief Campaign. Whereas, the state government provides Rs 4000 as labor compensation to the patient suffering from Post Kala Azar Dermal Leishmaniasis (PKDL) Kala Azar.

Kundan Kumar, district representative of Piramal Health, said that Kala Azar disease is caused by sandfly bites. Kala Azar flies spread more in places with high humidity and darkness, but it is easily possible to treat patients suffering from it. However, this disease also spreads from one person to another. Fever for more than two weeks, increase in stomach size, lack of appetite, vomiting, blackening of the skin, and many other symptoms are the main symptoms of Kala Azar disease. Patients with such symptoms are placed in the category of Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) Kala Azar. If such symptoms are felt in the body, it is necessary to get the affected patient examined immediately. Even after getting treatment, it is very important for the affected patient to remain safe.

Whatever the religion, daughters are being thrown into the fire of Tilak and dowry. On the other hand, due to poverty, daughters are not able to apply mehandi on their hands. The desire of getting their hands painted yellow is remaining unfulfilled. The age of the daughters is declining. Despite this, people greedy for dowry are standing with open mouths. Poor old fathers are roaming from village to village in temples, mosques and begging for donations so that their daughters can get their hands painted yellow. He appealed to the people present to avoid this monster of dowry. 

   Here, on the occasion of Urs, the tomb of Hazrat Jalal Shah was decorated beautifully, where a large number of men and women started gathering from the evening itself. The local administration deployed male and female police force at the venue, while the station in-charge Amit Kumar Ram was seen patrolling with the force.
